I love what you said, Lizz, about not having to be hard or cut throat or negative like the world to live life. So often that’s the message we hear. But how absolutely encouraging it is to know that faith, hope, and love are what brings life, especially love!
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.
Love this reminder that when we find ourselves in controversy (what ever that may look like) we should not try to handle it in our flesh or by our own understanding; we should seek counsel from the Holy Spirit, look to him for guidance in every situation reguardless of how simple or complex it might be, and then believe that it will be so- that is where OUR strength is!!!!
’…that if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain…"
Hello!!! Can I just say, I have forgotten to speak to my mountain…! Ugh!!! So thankful for this fast and all that is being highlighted to my spirit…
What a great message, Pastor. Thank you, Pastor. What a good reminder to consider the importance of your spiritual diet and not just your physical one. This reminds me of two of my favorite verses, Romans 12:1-2, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the power of this world, but instead be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then, you will be able to test approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.” I know this sounds silly, but for me I have to constanty ask God to help me to not put working out above my spiritual disciplines to satisy my spiritual hunger. Because endorphins are pretty real in making you “happy” and I have friends at our gym, it can be easy for me to prioritize working out over my prayer life. But, this is a great remnder!
Thank you for this, Pastor. Such a timely post (even though I’m a day late in responding!)
I was so tired last night that I couldn’t bring myself to sit down and read the Word, even though I wanted/needed to. I compromised by turning on the audio Bible (using YouVersion) and ended up falling asleep to it. I have to say that I woke up refreshed and rejuvenated this morning. I might supplement reading with listening on occasion now!
I will be volunteering at the Mission of Love Charity.
Wow, this really found me. Truly One thing is needful. Thanks for posting, Pastor!
I am so excited too! Believing for ALL the residue and leven out of my life in Jesus’ mighty name!

Perfect. Thanks Kelly.
Thanks Pastor Dennis for reminding us to pray. Only Prayer can heal broken hearts!
The Book of Job shows how amazing to think you have control until something like this happens or is taken away and realize later that only God does. Only He can be the true light of it all. Really sadden by this tragedy and praying for the families and the community.
Check out how these people enjoyed leading their LGs. Their comments on are the last post: http://bit.ly/UmBCC8
I loved running a Life Group, Ps Dennis says that the door to our church starts in the community, thats us! If you’re considering running one, I encourage you to go for it. Its the best way to spend time with Capcity folk outside the Sunday services. You will get more out than what you put in! If you’re busy – that a perfect excuse to run one, if you think you need more faith – perfect reason to jump in and go for it!
You’ll get extra points in heaven! just joking…joking, seriously!
Thank you Karina. She is my little princess.
you bet natalia! it’s going to be AMAZING, so excited!
